TDQ A Great jam band playing Rock/Fusion/Funk and yes, even some country rock! |
One of the great things about TDQ is their ability to go anywhere at almost any time...all the while creating musical interludes and illusions that stir up a plethera of creative jucies....
Luke McQuillin... Song writer, vocals, guitar...from guitar solos to funky rhythm chops....everything tasteful.....Starting out on the tenor guitar in middle school, Luke switched to tenor sax by the time he was in high school. However, after moving to New York City and listening to such greats as Frank Zappa, The Lovin Spoonful, and Cream, there was no turning back with him wanting to play the guitar. He quickly traded in his sax for an electric 6-string and the rest is history. He has been playing professionally off-and-on for more than 30 years. His roots are in rock-n-roll, rockin’ country, R & B & Jazz. Eric Clapton is his all-time favorite guitar player with his melodic style and sweet singing tones. However, Luke's "noodlings" have gotten him in trouble more than once and likes to think that he has everything in common with Eric (Hey! We all have fantasies, ya know!). He prefers to think of himself as a part of a horn section playing lines behind the melody.
He has appeared with such luminaries as Bonnie Raitt, Little Feat, Emmy Lou Harris, Catfish Hodge, Allman Brothers, and others. He has lived on Vashon for the past 5 years and appears in various bands and venues on-island.
Jack Barbash... Plays keyboards, accordian, and, yes, fluglehorn as well as writes tunes. Years of playing in orchestras, symphonic/pit bands (including conducting/arranging), fusion/rock/blues & flowertop-country-reggae bands have ensured that Jack would never again return to the straight and narrow. Currently he smiles while generating musical mischief with Turner Down, Island Fusion, & Sub Pop.
Doug Ringer plays bass guitar and is a singer/songwriter. He is relatively new to the musical scene, but that hasn't stopped him from laying down the beat & driving the bottom-end. In addition to TDQ, Doug plays occasionally with island bands such as The Great Divide, Tribal Voices, Loose Change, the Nettle Cats & whenever other island bands need a bass player. Recently he sat in with Michele Shocked during her show at the Vashon Theater.
Fletcher Andrews... Fletcher has been beating out rhythms for over 3 decades from Rock to Jazz, to somba fusion. Recent adventures in music have added Afro Cuban percussion and East Indian Tabla. Fletcher’s claim to fame was sitting in with George Duke’s band at Seattle’s premier Jazz Alley.
